Our team will meet you directly at the parking lot, where we’ll complete the rental agreement quickly and efficiently, so you can hit the road within minutes.

If you are not resident and travelling as a tourist your local or international car/motorbike driving license of your country is fine and will be accepted in Thailand for up to 3 months. After 3 months we strictly recommended applying for a local Thai driving license.

To rent a car or motorbike with BudgetCatcher, you must be at least 18 years old and present a valid driving license together with your passport.

Is a car or motorbike rental deposit required?

Yes, a deposit is required to rent a car/motorbike from BudgetCatcher at Chiang Mai Railway Station. A refundable deposit will be paid in advance during the vehicle pickup. For your car rental you need to drop a deposit of 5000 THB. For your motorbike rental you need to drop a deposit of 2000 THB.

Notice: The deposit will be accepted by CASH in any currency of your choice (e.g. Thai Baht, Dollar, Yen, Euro). The deposit will be refunded in the same currency when the rental is completed, provided the vehicle is returned in the same condition as when received.

All our rental cars & motorbikes are available for rent without a credit card. Of course we also accept all major credit cards so the choice is yours.

Our regular office hours at Chiang Mai Railway Station are Mon-Sun, from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. We charge an out-of-hours fee of 200 THB if you pick up or drop off your vehicle outside the rental counter’s normal opening hours from 08:00 – 18:00. Between 21:00 – 05:00 we charge 300 THB.
